Dr. Leah I. Thies is a native of Des Moines and her husband Eric is a native of Newton, Iowa. Leah received her D.V.M. in 2008 from Iowa State University and completed her pre-veterinary studies in ISU’s Department of Animal Science. During school she worked at veterinary clinics in Ames and in Boone. She joined the team at Pipestone Veterinary Services in Ottumwa, IA shortly after graduation and has been serving the community since. After graduation Leah recieved further advanced training in small animal fracture repair and cruciate rupture stabilization. While she enjoys all aspects of dog and cat preventative care, medicine and surgery, she especially enjoys small animal orthopedic and emergency care. Dr. Thies is a native of Des Moines and her husband, Eric, is a native of Newton, Iowa. They share their small farm with their daughter, Ashley, born January 2013, two dogs, Dieter and Fenris, and their cat, Ewok.
