Pipestone employees are always looking for ways to make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve, and this summer, that impact came to life through support of the Royal Family KIDS Camp in Southwest Minnesota area.
Royal Family KIDS Camps are hosted across the United States and are dedicated to creating life-changing experiences for children in foster care. The program focuses on bringing hope and healing to kids who have experienced abuse, neglect, or instability, giving them a safe space to simply be kids again.
Through Pipestone’s GiVE Program, employees were able to support the camp’s mission of helping children rediscover joy, build confidence, and create lasting positive memories.
Royal Family KIDS Camp runs thanks to an incredible network of volunteers and supporters who come together each year to serve children in need. Pipestone employees contributed to this effort through both financial support and hands-on involvement, reinforcing the company’s commitment to investing in local organizations that make a meaningful difference.
One of the most impactful contributions this year came before camp even began. Pipestone team members organized a fundraiser to provide every camper with a brand-new pair of shoes and socks. For many of these children, having something new to call their own is not a common experience, and this simple gift helps set the tone for a week centered on dignity, care, and belonging.
“I’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone across our Pipestone team who contributed,” said Jody De Kam, VP of Finance at Pipestone. “We received donations from throughout our entire Pipestone network, and it was incredible to see employees from multiple states come together to support children in another community.”
The Pipestone Finance Team played a key role in bringing this initiative to life. They coordinated the sorting and organization of all donated items, ensuring that each camper received the right sizes and a complete set. Once everything was prepared, the team delivered the shoes and socks on the first day of camp, helping campers feel confident and ready for the week ahead.
The Royal Family KIDS Camp is about creating moments: moments where kids feel seen, valued, and safe. Whether it’s celebrating a birthday, trying something new, or simply enjoying time outdoors with supportive mentors, each experience is designed to help children rebuild trust and confidence.
Providing new shoes and socks may seem like a small gesture, but for these campers, it represents something much bigger. “Everyone’s generosity and willingness to help make a difference is truly appreciated,” Jody added. “It’s amazing to see how much something like this means to the kids. It gives them a sense of confidence and reminds them that they are supported.”
