When employees come together to support a cause they care about, small acts of generosity can create a lasting impact. In August, the FarmStats and FarmBooks teams led a GiVE project benefiting The Foster Network and the families it serves.
The Foster Network serves children, families, and caregivers throughout South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska, providing critical resources and support during every stage of the foster care and family journey. Their mission centers on ensuring children and families have access to the tools, guidance, and necessities they need to thrive during times of transition and change.
One of the organization’s most impactful programs is The Closet, which provides essential items to children entering foster care and to the caregivers who welcome them into their homes. The Closet helps meet immediate needs by offering clothing, shoes, hygiene products, seasonal gear, and other everyday essentials. These resources provide comfort during uncertain times while helping ease the financial burden often placed on foster families.
Throughout the month, FarmStats and FarmBooks employees rallied behind the effort, collecting donations and raising funds to support The Foster Network’s mission. Thanks to the generosity of employees across the organization, the project contributed over $5,700 between employee donations and a contribution from the Pipestone GiVE program.
The response was overwhelming. Team members packed a vehicle full of donated essentials destined for The Closet, helping ensure children and caregivers have access to the resources they need most. Combined with additional online purchases, these donations will help support families across the region. In August alone, 822 visitors accessed The Closet, demonstrating both the ongoing need and the significant impact of The Foster Network’s work.
For many involved, the project provided an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of local families.
“It filled my cup being able to support such a wonderful organization that supports so many families,” said Tracie Skyberg, FarmStats Data Entry Clerk.
The success of this GiVE project demonstrates the power of employees coming together around a common purpose. By partnering with organizations like The Foster Network, Pipestone employees help provide comfort, stability, and support to children and families during some of life’s most challenging moments.
